I’ve never sailed before
If you are interested in becoming a Member we suggest you come down one weekend and meet the members, take a look at the yachts and watch how it all works. If you decide that it’s for you, we will then take you to the next stage by finding a day when the wind is not too strong and then give you an introductory lesson.
You don’t need any prior experience of sailing. We teach you all you need to know to enjoy your first wind powered thrill.

I’m ready to learn
Even if you have sailed before there are some very significant differences in how these yachts sail compared to stadard yachts or dinghies. Apparent wind is far more important than real wind direction and these yachts spend ninetly percent of the time with the sail wound in as if they were on a beat. There is also the obvious difference in that a capsize reults in an abrupt halt on the beach so it’s to be avoided if at all possible. There are plenty of other differences so sign up and find out.

If you are a yacht/dinghy sailor there are some key differences most of which are obvious but the effect of apparent wind is quite different to most water sailing experiences. Again we will guide you through the adaptions you will need to make.
If you are already a pilot and want to join just select ‘Apply online’ or ‘Download and print’ to print out and return by post. Full adult membership is currently £125 per annum and Junior membership is £85 per annum.
What’s included with my membership
Tuition
We have two fully qualified instructors who will guide you through a program of training as stipulated by the International Land and Sandyachting federation. You will learn how to safely control your landyacht ensuring you get the maximum fun for minimum risk to you and others around you.
Use of club yachts
We have a number of training yachts and a Standart which can be used as part of the membership fee.
Insurance
We carry full insurance for you to sail for pleasure or race in the UK or Europe on designated land or in a designated event including full third party liability cover.
Under 18 membership
We have a discounted rate of £85 per annum for all juniors up to the age of 18 and the fee includes tuition, insurance and use of the club traning yachts.
Yacht storage is available at the club should you quickly become addicted and want to buy your own yacht.
Yacht storage
We have some storage racks which allow those who live a long way from the club, or have no trailer, to store their yachts for a small annual charge.
